A man was killed — crushed by his own car’s door — in an accident at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at a McDonald’s near the former world’s fair site on False Creek, Vancouver police said.
Surveillance video showed that, while paying for his order at the window, the driver dropped something — later found to be his bank card, the police said. When he opened the car door and leaned out to retrieve the item, his vehicle rolled forward and the door hit what the police report called “a structural piece of the restaurant.”
Pinned between the car door and the door frame, the driver was crushed.
Emergency crews responded but the man was declared dead at the scene.
